Out with the old, In With The New!

Getting rid of old bad habits and toxic traits before the new year!

The bad food, the late night snacking, the long gossip conversations on your way to drop the kids off, the fake friends, and family too. The bad men with the charm to have you laughing at bad jokes. It’s time to set bigger boundaries and put our mental health first.

Eating More Green!

Choosing unhealthy food habits has the same effect on our health as choosing unhealthy men. Lol! Yes, having a slice of pizza, a cheeseburger, or your favorite dessert, doesn’t hurt until it becomes an unhealthy routine. The lack of a clean diet has a great effect on our health. If all we’re eating is bad food that is unhealthy and toxic for us, How do we expect to feel good? Do you wish to feel full of light and energy? Do you expect to wanna have the desire to go for a walk, run, or jog?  NO! You’ll feel tired wanna go for a nap or chill and eventually snack on something else in the next couple of hours. That’s what eating food with bad toxins does to you. Not only do you feel depleted you also crave more of the bad food. We all have our moments. I created a healthy eating routine to stay in control of my diet and what I consume daily.

  1. Once I rise I like to start my day with a nice glass of water I may then follow up with some fruit, greens, toast, beans, or just oatmeal with fruit.

  2. Next, I’ll have tea/coffee

  3. For lunch, I like to eat light especially if I’m working. Salad, Sandwich, or Soup.

  4. For dinner, I’m not so hard on myself but keep it to a minimum since I get off late. pasta, veggie burgers, tacos, etc.

I found a great guide to assist on your health journey. I love Joie, I love working out to her fitness videos on Youtube. I posted a few of my favorites down below. I have also watched some of her home cook videos and the girl has some pretty good meals to still stay healthy and fit.

Healthy Relationships

Health is a new wealth and the company we keep really matters to our health. Surrounding ourselves around healthy positive people really makes an impact on our lives.  From our parents to our lovers, a friend, or a neighbor. We have to make it a priority to only surround ourselves with positive uplifting individuals. According to even Forbes toxic relationships hinders our growth. “Emotional stress compromises our immunity and threatens our resilience.” (https://www.forbes.com/sites/nazbeheshti/2020/05/15/an-average-of-80-of-americans-have-experienced-emotional-abuse/?sh=628d826c7b49) We all run into that friend, someone we love or maybe a relative that just drains the energy right out of us. Puts us down and never lifts us up. It's actually more common now than you would think. “Toxic friendships are all too common. 84% of women and 75% of men report having a toxic friend at some point.”(https://www.forbes.com/sites/nazbeheshti/2020/05/15/an-average-of-80-of-americans-have-experienced-emotional-abuse/?sh=628d826c7b49) For a wealthier peaceful lifestyle you wanna clean out the bad waste. Toxic relationships have the same effects on our minds body and souls as bad food.

Unhealthy Environments

Anyone that makes you feel small, insecure, and unsafe can make any environment to be unhealthy. Whether you're at work, a friend’s home, or a place you like to shop, we have to pay close attention to the signs our body gives us when we don’t feel safe. It's important when we feel these signs we act on them. Protecting our peace means also protecting our space no matter what. Choose environments where you can be light, full of joy, and love. Allow your soul to speak to you, listen, and be present. Thank me later
